This dimension can be accomplished through the nurturing and development of The 8th Habit which is to Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs. Covey further explains, "It is the voice of the human spirit-full of hope and intelligence, resilient by nature, boundless in its potential to serve the common good. This voice...will survive, thrive and profoundly impact the future of the world". Our voice defined by Covey is "the unique personal significance that is revealed as we face our greatest challenges and which make us equal to them".

Are you in danger of living most of your life unhappy? Have you given serious thought to how you can increase your happiness in 2013? Or, will you allow your preconceptions about happiness thwart the possibility that you can be happier? When something is important to your wellbeing, as your happiness, you have to carve out time in your schedule for I and commit to actions that will enhance it. Hope and prayer alone will not suffice. You have to find ways to create and experience happiness in the here and now if you desire to cultivate a continuous state of happiness.

Simple Practices to Boost Your Happiness

You don’t want to look back at the end of 2013, and think, “How happier I would have been, if only I’d made time to fully appreciate and enjoy ordinary moments in my life.” To avoid this fate, you can begin right now at the start of the year to initiate simple practices that will help you savor the ordinary in your life. By shifting our view of that which is familiar in our lives, to an outlook of wonder and appreciation, we can nurture the mindfulness that inhabits the “precious present”.
The following practices can help you begin to initiate a mental shift that will boost your happiness:

1.Be silly. Be lighthearted.
2.Be the kind of person you would want a child to grow up to become.
3.Choose not to take things personally.
4.Remember, folks are doing the best that they can at the time.
5.Show compassion towards others. People’s lives are often a lot more complicated then we know.
